HTC has partnered with LetsTalk.com for fulfilling the orders. Unlocked HTC One was open for pre-order earlier this month, and there were reports of a slight delay in dispatching the two models. At the time of writing this post, both the versions are back in stock and you can directly place an order with them. Moreover, HTC is now claiming that all orders placed by 2PM PST will ship within 24 hours.
Things to note before ordering Unlocked HTC One
There is a BIG question mark over the warranty terms for both these models. Currently, the website mentions just about 30 Day Returns & 30 Day Exchanges. We have got in touch with HTCDev team for clarification, and will update the post as and when we get a reply. Update: HTCDev team has clarified on Twitter that both the models come with 1 year limited warranty. International warranty terms are not clear cut as well. Usually, smartphone manufacturers provide only standard local warranty, but it seems HTC has something called Global Warranty Support (GWS) policy, which says that a handling charge of $35 should be paid every time you take the phone to the service center. Again, we have contacted HTC, and will update the post with the official reply. There is no way to choose the color of these unlocked HTC One models. The image gallery shows the silver variant, but no way to be sure. There are no taxes involved except when you are ordering from CA or TX. There are three options for shipping – standard ($4.95), 2 day shipping ($8.95) and overnight shipping ($18.95). Update: @varunkrish, the editor of FoneArena.com says that HTC is cancelling orders placed with non-US credit cards. I have placed an order myself, will update this again.
In addition to these two unlocked models of HTC One, you can also order some accessories like a Double dip case, a Double dip flip case, a screen protector and a travel charger.
